The authorities have undertaken a large-scale modernization of air transport facilities. By 2030, it is planned to build and restore at least 75 airfields and 19 terminals. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and former head of Aeroflot Vitaly Savelyev at a government meeting.
In total, it is expected to launch 28 concessions by 2030. The first agreement was signed with Sberbank in March 2025. Under it, the Gorno-Altaisk airport will be reconstructed.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that the comfort of passengers largely depends on the quality of airport complexes. Last year, eight new passenger terminals were opened at the airports of Novokuznetsk, Mineralnye Vody, Tyumen, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yoshkar-Ola, Izhevsk, Murmansk and Khabarovsk. Further construction and restoration of 19 terminals is planned until 2030.
