Fraudsters Lure Residents' Data Under the Guise of Installing New Access Control Systems

Attackers infiltrate homeowners' chats and offer "free installation"

Cases of fraud have become more frequent in Russia, where fraudsters, under the guise of installing a new access control system, lure personal data from residents of apartment buildings. This was reported by RIA "Novosti".

Attackers infiltrate homeowners' chats and, posing as employees of management companies, announce plans to install modern equipment. They promise free installation but ask for personal data, apartment number, and the number of passes required.

In this way, fraudsters gain access to residents' confidential information. Earlier, another fraud scheme related to "gifts" for birthdays was reported.
