The «Scorpion-2M» SUV, developed by the Russian corporation «Zashita» for the army, but not mass-produced, has appeared for sale on «Avto». The 2014 car is sold in Kovrov, Vladimir region, for 3 million rubles.
The SUV is equipped with a rare Polish Andoria turbodiesel with a volume of 2.6 liters and a capacity of 136 hp, a mechanical gearbox, all-wheel drive with a transfer case and self-locking differentials on both axles. Despite the eight-seater interior and impressive dimensions, driving requires only a category «B» driver's license. The car is officially registered with the traffic police, and re-registration is not difficult.
The seller positions the «Scorpion-2M» as an SUV for hunting, fishing and extreme tourism, noting the ease of maintenance and availability of spare parts. For comparison, new serial SUVs of comparable class in Russia cost more: BAIC BJ40 — from 3.4 million rubles, Haval H9 — from 4.4 million, Tank — from 4.3 million rubles.
The «Scorpion» family was created in the early 2010s on the basis of the UAZ chassis, then its own platform was developed with a fully independent suspension and partial use of Ulyanovsk components. Several modifications were planned — from light assault to armored, but mass production was never launched, and the prototypes ended up with private owners.
