Military RCB groups searched for toxic substances in the air in the Volgograd Region

Troops in the exercise used GSA-3 gas analyzers and PKhRDD-3 chemical reconnaissance devices

Servicemen of the radiation, chemical and biological protection (RCB protection) formation of the Southern Military District in the Volgograd Region practiced actions in the event of a likely use of weapons of mass destruction by the enemy. This was reported by the press service of the military district.

training of RCB group servicemen

During the exercise, fighters of the RCB groups detected and identified toxic substances and also assessed the scale of the "contamination." The servicemen used chemical reconnaissance equipment.

In particular, the personnel used portable automatic gas detectors GSA-3 and GSA-4. The equipment makes it possible to detect and determine the type of a wide range of chemical substances. In addition, the troops employed the remote chemical reconnaissance device PKhRDD-3, which detects toxic vapors in the air.

Based on the data obtained with the help of the equipment, the commanders of the RCB reconnaissance groups assessed the parameters of the simulated contamination (agent type, zone boundaries, danger levels).

While taking measurements, collecting samples, setting up fencing, and treating the terrain, the servicemen wore PMK-3 general-purpose filtering gas masks. Individual protection also includes the general-purpose protective kit. It consists of the OP-1M cloak, protective stockings, and gloves. All items are made of rubberized fabric.
