AO "NII Stali" (part of Rostec's "Kalashnikov" concern) is completing the implementation of an investment project for a capital-intensive modernization of production. Output of the company's main products under government contracts will increase fourfold.
"NII Stali" has purchased coil unwinding lines, crank presses, grinding machines for edge cleanup, a surface grinder for repairing stamping tooling, progressive dies, and other important equipment.
The enterprise carried out major repairs of production facilities with the installation of platforms for equipment placement, as well as the replacement and installation of engineering networks and utilities to integrate the purchased equipment into existing production areas.
"NII Stali" is scheduled to reach its designed production capacity in the first quarter of 2026. Among other things, the enterprise produces the base "Relikt" explosive reactive armor for main battle tanks — the T-90M "Proryv", T-80BVM, and T-72B3M.
