The Kazan company "KER-Kholding" developed and manufactured prototype samples of critically important components for the Taurus 60 gas turbine engine produced by Solar Turbines. This was reported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
The enterprise won three grants worth 600 million rubles under the federal project "New Equipment and Technologies" for the creation of a gas burner, a combustion chamber, and blades.
The development is intended to replace imported components used in power generation and gas pumping units, the ministry noted.
In total, more than 40 Taurus 60 gas turbine units produced by Solar Turbines are in operation in Russia.
Implementation of the project will make it possible to ensure their repair and maintenance using domestic solutions, reducing dependence on foreign supplies, the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade concluded.
