Cheboksary Plant of Power Units (ChZSA) manufactured a drive axle for compact machinery with a 3.5-ton load capacity. The project is included in the list of modern technologies and is being implemented with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In January, the axle successfully passed bench tests. The next stage is testing the unit as part of a loader. After refinement based on the test results, the product is planned to be launched into mass production.
The project is being carried out within the framework of the import substitution policy. The plant expects to reach volumes sufficient for localizing the component base of Russian compact machinery. Half of the produced axles will be used in the company's own products, while the rest will be supplied to external customers.
The implementation of the project strengthens the position of domestic mechanical engineering and creates a foundation for expanding cooperation with other machinery manufacturers, reducing dependence on imports and developing its own engineering school.
