Rutube Sets a New Record: Peak Internet Traffic Volume Exceeded 12 Tbps in 2025

The platform increased user traffic volume and expanded its infrastructure

In 2025, the Rutube video hosting service recorded a traffic peak that exceeded 12 Tbps. And from December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026, its maximum level amounted to more than 11 Tbps. This was reported by the press service of Gazprom-Media Holding's digital assets.

Users of the platform download an average of about 4 GB of video per day, which amounts to around 1.4 TB per year. Moscow was the leader in terms of traffic consumption volume, accounting for 24.2%, followed by St. Petersburg with 5.8% and Novosibirsk Region with 3%. The top 5 also includes Sverdlovsk Region and Krasnodar Krai, each accounting for 2.7%.

The highest service load is observed from 20:00 to 22:00, while minimum traffic is recorded from 03:00 to 06:00. Over the year, Rutube successfully expanded its CDN network, covering 36 cities.

Over the year, 1,500 new servers were launched to ensure high loading speed and stable operation. The platform's monthly audience reached 85 million people, and the total amount of hosted content exceeded 430 million videos.
