AvtoVAZ has revealed the key features of the new Lada Azimut crossover, which will begin production in the third quarter of 2026. The company is betting on design, equipment and high adaptation to Russian conditions in order to outpace competitors in the market.
Sergey Kornienko, Head of Product Marketing at AvtoVAZ, noted that design will be the main advantage of the model. According to him, Lada Azimut is distinguished by harmonious proportions, clear edges and a modern geometric silhouette.
The crossover is designed taking into account Russian roads and climate. The suspension will be adapted to uneven surfaces, and a set of "warm" options — heated windows, mirrors and seats — will make the trip comfortable even in winter frosts. Kornienko emphasized that in the equipment of LADA Azimut, the company plans to offer more than its competitors at the same price, or make the car more affordable.
Corrosion protection is another key element. The crossover body will be fully galvanized, which guarantees durability, and experience with Lada Vesta shows a complete absence of complaints about rust. The heating of the side windows is implemented with threads, similar to the windshield and rear window, which is a rare "feature" for the segment.
The model is created with high localization: at least 90% of the components are of Russian production. 996 new solutions were used in the development. The basic equipment includes a full set of safety systems: ABS, EBD, BAS, ESC, TCS, HSA, head restraints, seat belts, ERA-GLONASS unit, ISOFIX mounts and two airbags. Comfort options include keyless entry, climate control, a multimedia system with a touch screen, heated and electric mirrors, LED headlights and heated front seats.
Under the hood of the Lada Azimut in the basic version will be a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 120 hp with a six-speed "mechanics". More expensive versions will receive a 1.8-liter engine with 132 hp with a variator, and later the first turbocharged LADA engine with 150 hp with a classic "automatic" will appear.
