A welding inspection system with accuracy up to 80 microns has been introduced at the KamAZ cab frame plant

Production automation stands at 80%, and the geometry of parts is checked using contact and laser methods

A welding inspection system with accuracy up to 80 microns has been introduced at the KamAZ cab frame plant, which has been operating since 2019. This was reported by Maksim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Za Rulem".

Production is automated by 80%, and each part undergoes strict in-line inspection, while selective geometry checks are carried out on two Zeiss measuring supermachines.

Measurements use a contact method and laser surface scanning, which makes it possible to detect even the slightest deviations at early stages. The same laboratory monitors the geometry of KamAZ Compass medium-duty truck cabs, ensuring a unified quality standard for all models.
