"Mikhalych" Cargo Drone to Start Supplying Units in Dangerous Zones from February 2026

Russian engineers are testing a drone with inertial and optical navigation, designed for reliable cargo delivery

In Russia, tests are underway for the new «Mikhalych» cargo drone, designed to supply units in high-risk areas. This was reported to TASS by an official representative of the «Svarog» research and production center.

According to the developers, «Mikhalych» is capable of delivering cargo weighing up to 10 kilograms over a distance of up to 20 kilometers. The drone is designed to supply units located in remote areas and under constant enemy surveillance. It is planned to be sent to the combat zone as early as February 2026.

The device is equipped with an inertial and optical navigation system, which allows it to perform flights without satellite data and operate in fully automatic mode. The batteries are built into the sides of the body, which makes it possible to install additional equipment, including electronic warfare equipment and communication systems. Training in drone operation will take place in a specialized center.

The «Svarog» NPC notes that the mass introduction of cargo quadcopters will allow for the rapid delivery of ammunition, medicines, and food, reducing risks to personnel. In conditions of a shortage of such devices, many units use repaired trophy drones, which makes the development of a domestic model particularly relevant.
