In 2026, the plant in Yelabuga plans to assemble only 60 luxury Aurus cars, which is more than half of the initial annual plan. This is reported by the portal "Russian Automobile", citing internal data from the manufacturer. Last year, 147 units were produced — including Aurus Senat sedans and Aurus Komendant SUVs.
According to sources, a significant volume of unsold 2025 Senat models remains in warehouses, which makes it impractical to increase the production of new cars. At the same time, the debut of the restyled version of the Senat is expected as early as the end of the first quarter of 2026, which, according to the developers' idea, should stimulate demand. However, judging by the current production plan, the company prefers to wait for the market reaction before increasing volumes.
Aurus Senat — the flagship sedan of the Russian premium brand — is equipped with a 598 hp hybrid power plant, created on the basis of a 4.4-liter V8 unit developed jointly with Porsche specialists. The dimensions of the car are impressive: length — 5632 mm, width — 2020 mm. The cost of the civilian version exceeds 50 million rubles.
Aurus Komendant, a luxury SUV, uses the same hybrid transmission and is positioned as an alternative to Western counterparts such as the Rolls-Royce Cullinan or Bentley Bentayga. Nevertheless, despite technological advancement and state support, there is still no mass demand for Russian luxury cars.
