Delays due to snowfalls: Aeroflot and Rossiya airlines will deliver baggage to passengers from Sheremetyevo to their homes

The day before, passengers complained about waiting for luggage and bags for many hours

Sheremetyevo Airport passengers were offered delivery of delayed baggage to personal addresses. Aeroflot and Rossiya sent feedback forms for processing the service.

According to RBC, baggage claim for most domestic flights exceeded six hours by the morning, while passengers were not provided with up-to-date information, meals, or a hotel. Baggage will be delivered within 48 hours.

Due to restrictions on accepting flights, Aeroflot adjusted its schedule for January 10, including canceling some flights and diverting some aircraft to alternate airfields. Similar measures were taken by Pobeda airline. Passengers of canceled flights are offered a refund of the ticket price or rebooking on other flights.

Delays and disruptions at the airport are due to adverse weather conditions. On the night of January 9, record snowfalls hit Moscow and the Moscow region: 22 mm of precipitation was recorded at the VDNKh weather station per day, which is 9.1 mm higher than the previous January record that existed for 50 years. Restrictions on accepting flights were in effect until 10:00 Moscow time, but departures were carried out in full. The prosecutor's office organized an investigation into the delays.
