The final batch of five "Gorozhanin" trolleybuses with extended autonomous range, manufactured on the basis of vehicle kits from the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), has been delivered to Ufa. This was reported by the plant's press service. The new vehicles are undergoing preparation and will begin operating on city routes in the near future.
The batch became the last under the contract for 15 vehicles. Ufa Mayor Ratmir Mavliev emphasized that this is an important step in the modernization of the city's electric transport. He noted that Russian-Belarusian cooperation since 2019, when MAZ became a strategic partner of the Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant, has made it possible to create high-quality and reliable equipment.
According to the head of the city administration, the arrival of the new trolleybuses is only part of the transport renewal plan. This year, the authorities plan to purchase about 20 more vehicles, completing the modernization program. Over the past five years, Ufa has already received 49 units of this modification.
