Russian military forces used the "Oreshnik" medium-range ballistic missile on the night of January 9. This was announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Russian Armed Forces launched a massive strike with high-precision long-range weapons of ground and sea basing, including the "Oreshnik" mobile ground-based medium-range missile system.
Footage of thecombat use of the MRBM has appeared online. Apparently, it is a launch without a special warhead. Judging by the footage, six warheads hit the targets.
Rocket engineer Alexander Vasiliev noted that the kinetic energy reserve of the "Oreshnik" warhead at a speed of over Mach 5-6 exceeds the energy of the explosive that can physically be placed in the body. At such overloads, the explosive could occupy no more than 25-30% of the mass.
