Fraudsters have become more active since the beginning of 2026, offering their "assistance" in processing applications for OSAGO policies for a fee. This may be regarded as illegal resale, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs warns. Such a policy may be declared invalid, which will lead to financial losses for citizens.
All OSAGO policies have an electronic version, while a paper form is available upon request. The policy can be issued either at an insurance company office or via the internet. However, there is a risk of encountering unscrupulous organizations that, for a nominal fee, offer help with submitting an application. At first glance, this looks like a normal service, but in fact it becomes a violation of the law.
The agency emphasizes that only official agents working under a contract with an insurance company have the right to sell OSAGO policies. The commission received by the agent is already included in the cost of the policy. Any additional expenses for processing may be unlawful.
It should not be forgotten: assistance with filing an application may be regarded not as a consultation, but as illegal resale. The Ministry of Internal Affairs strongly recommends carefully checking the source of such services and avoiding such offers.
