In 2025, the German concern Mercedes-Benz filed applications to register the S 600 trademark and two logos. This is confirmed by materials from the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent).
The applications were submitted from Germany in September of last year by the company \"Mersedes-Bents Grupp AG\". Registration is provided for under classes No. 12, 37 of the Nice Classification and applies to automobiles and components, repair and maintenance services.
The former Mercedes plant in the Moscow Region is now owned by GK \"Avtodom\". The company explained that trademark registration in Russia is needed to preserve copyright. However, it cannot be said with confidence that the German manufacturer plans to return to the Russian market.
Registering the brand is simply a protective step so that copyright is not used by anyone else.
The source added that GK \"Avtodom\" maintains contacts with its German colleagues. However, there is no talk of car deliveries yet.
Let us recall that Mercedes-Benz wound down its operations in Russia in 2022. The decision was related to the tightening of Western sanctions against the Russian Federation.
