The Ministry of Transport of Russia confirmed the openness of air traffic with Venezuela

There are no official plans to close routes yet

The Ministry of Transport does not plan to close air traffic with Venezuela. This was announced on Saturday, January 3, by the head of the department, Nikolai Shestakov.

Currently, Russian airlines do not operate flights to this country due to the lack of tourist flow. At the moment, the Venezuelan company Conviasa has permission to operate flights on two routes.

At the moment, the issue of officially closing air traffic is not being considered.

Explosions were heard in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, on January 3. Electricity was cut off in several areas. The country's President Nicolas Maduro announced the introduction of a state of emergency. Later, US President Donald Trump said that Maduro himself and his wife were captured and taken out of the country.
