Russian "Oreshnik" Takes Combat Duty in Belarus

The complex is capable of hitting targets at ranges up to 5,000 km

The mobile ground-based missile system "Oreshnik" of Russian production has taken up combat duty in Belarus. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the republic.

The department recalled that the missile system arrived in Belarus as part of the implementation of a bilateral agreement with Russia.

Specialists of combat launch, communication, security and power supply crews, as well as mechanics-drivers of missile system units, have been retrained using modern training facilities.

The "Oreshnik" systems were checked and brought into readiness for use as intended, the ministry added. According to the Belarusian side, the missile system is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 5 thousand km from any point of the combat patrol route.
