About 3 million cars manufactured in the USSR remain on Russian roads. This is approximately 5.5% of the total number of registered vehicles in the country.
The most noticeable presence of Soviet cars is observed among trucks (27.7%). In the bus segment, this figure reaches 13.5%, and among light commercial vehicles (LCV) — 6.6%. The smallest share of cars "born in the USSR" belongs to passenger cars — it is only 3.5%, according to the Avtostat agency.
It should be reminded that the Soviet Union ceased to exist on December 26, 1991, which means that these cars are already more than 34 years old.
