Chinese Crossover Maintenance Cheaper Than Lada Iskra and Vesta: Study

JAC JS3 turned out to be the most expensive, and Livan X3 Pro — the most economical in maintenance among cars up to 2.5 million rubles

Auto.ru magazine compared the cost of maintenance of eight cars costing up to 2.5 million rubles. The study involved Omoda S5, Geely Emgrand, Livan X3 Pro, "Moskvich 3", JAC JS3, Solaris KRX, Lada Iskra and Lada Vesta SW Cross. The results were unexpected — the maintenance of domestic cars turned out to be more expensive than that of a number of Chinese competitors.

Lada Vesta SW Cross.

The most expensive in the test was the JAC JS3 crossover — its maintenance cost 30,300 rubles. At the opposite end of the ranking was the Livan X3 Pro, requiring only 9,170 rubles for scheduled maintenance.

Lada Vesta SW Cross showed an average result — 20,200 rubles, and Lada Iskra — 12,300 rubles. At the same time, the new Iskra was inferior in terms of maintenance economy even to Livan X3 Pro, and Vesta was located between the Chinese models Omoda S5 (23,900 rubles) and "Moskvich 3" (19,400 rubles).

Experts note that the high cost of maintenance of Russian models is associated with the increase in prices for original spare parts and consumables, as well as with an increase in service rates. At the same time, Chinese manufacturers are trying to keep operating costs low in order to attract customers in an increasingly competitive environment.
