The increased combat radius of the missile is not the only improvement it received during the modernization process.

Due to the reduction in the mass of the warhead, the updated «Iskander» is capable of flying 900–1000 km and developing a speed close to the hypersonic missile «Kinzhal» (up to 12 Mach).

The cost of the «Iskander-M» missile — about 190 million rubles — recently became known. In total, at least seven types of missiles with various warheads, including high-explosive fragmentation and cluster warheads, are currently being produced for the «Iskander-M».

As a reminder, the complex is mainly used to destroy enemy air defense systems, as well as other important objects.
