Vologda Aviation Enterprise continues to operate regular passenger flights on Yak-40 aircraft, which are approaching 50 years old. This is stated on the company's official website.
A total of five Yak-40 aircraft manufactured in the 1970s are in operation. One of them, a Yak-40 with registration number RA-88231, was produced on December 3, 1976.
Currently, the Yak-40 operates flights from Vologda to Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Veliky Ustyug. The average ticket price is about 5.5 thousand rubles.
The Vologda Aviation Enterprise also has three light multi-purpose An-2 aircraft and 18 multi-purpose Mi-8 helicopters.
The Yak-40 is the world's first jet passenger aircraft for local airlines. It is capable of operating from short and unpaved runways and can accommodate up to 32 passengers.
Earlier, the company announced a possible fleet upgrade with Il-114-300s. The company signed an agreement of intent to supply aircraft under a leasing arrangement.
