In the Kaliningrad region, demonstration training flights took place at the home airfield of the mixed aviation regiment of the Baltic Fleet's naval aviation. Crews of modern combat and transport aircraft demonstrated a high level of professional training, practicing key elements of tactical and aerobatic skills in conditions close to combat.
During the exercises, the crews utilized three key types of aircraft:
- Su-30SM multirole fighter of the "4++" generation with AESA radar, thrust vectoring AL-31FP engines, and an electronic warfare suite — for "free hunting" and escorting strike groups;
- modernized Su-24 front-line bomber, equipped with satellite navigation, digital targeting systems, and capable of using high-precision munitions such as Kh-29 and KAB-500SE;
- An-26 military transport aircraft, practicing takeoff and landing on unpaved runways, and the deployment of personnel and cargo in conditions of limited visibility.
The crews participating in the exercises performed flights at extremely low altitudes, night missions, instrument approaches, as well as complex anti-missile and anti-aircraft evasion maneuvers. Particular attention was paid to operations in challenging meteorological conditions, which underscores the readiness of the Baltic Fleet's aviation to perform tasks at any time of day and in adverse weather.
