AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov spoke about the auto giant's plans for 2026. According to him, it is planned to produce 400,000 cars next year. However, the production level will depend on the key rate and measures to support demand.
Sokolov noted that the company's production facilities in Togliatti and Izhevsk are designed for 650,000 cars per year. AvtoVAZ may approach this level after 2030. The top manager hopes that the Russian market for new passenger cars may grow to 2–2.2 million cars per year by 2030.
If we take the company's historical share at the level of 25%, a maximum of 30%, then the entire market in this case should not exceed 2-2.2 million passenger cars per year. I think that sometime beyond 2030 we can come to this.
The top manager also touched upon the topic of Chinese cars. Maxim Sokolov emphasized that the dumping of manufacturers from China has reached critical proportions. He noted that Lada still costs less than Chinese cars.
Today, of course, we see that due to macro-financial conditions, the high rate of the Central Bank, tightening lending conditions, as well as certain, I would even say harsh dumping from Chinese cars, there is a sharp decline in the market.
