Complex Password Instead of Face ID: Ministry of Internal Affairs Warns of Risks to Your Wallet

The agency advises against logging in with fingerprint and facial recognition

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, in its official materials, recommended that citizens refrain from logging into banking applications using a fingerprint or facial recognition function. This is stated in the materials of the department. The information is transmitted by RIA Novosti.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that to protect personal data, you should use a complex screen lock password and install a reliable antivirus program. It is also not recommended to store bank card details on your smartphone - number, expiration date, CVV- or PIN-code.

In case of loss of the device, users are advised to immediately contact the bank office to block cards and not use other people's devices to log into online banking.

The agency recalled that you should not follow links from messages, even if they look like official notifications from the bank. To protect personal data, Russians are also advised to disable the display of the text of incoming messages on the locked phone screen.
