S-400 Triumph acquired characteristics not typical for air defense

The modernization of the complex opened up broad prospects for the military

The S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) has some characteristics that are generally not typical of air defense systems (ADS). This was stated by Yan Novikov, General Director of Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation (part of Rostec Group).

According to him, the Triumph has a wide modernization potential, which allows to quickly stop emerging threats.

One of these answers is the huge modernization potential of the S-400. Due to this potential, the Triumph has received new capabilities and properties that are fundamentally uncharacteristic of air defense systems.

Novikov did not specify what kind of properties are meant in the context of the Triumph.

The head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia, Dmitry Shugaev, noted that in terms of efficiency, the S-400 surpasses the American Patriot system by two times. India is showing active interest in the complexes, this issue will be discussed during the visit of the President of the Russian Federation to New Delhi on December 4-5.
