The development program for the Russian A-100 "Premier" airborne early warning and control (AWACS) aircraft has been shut down. This was announced by a former pilot and author of the Telegram channel Fighterbomber.
According to him, the A-100 model currently exists in a single copy and is located far from the Beriev Aviation Plant in Taganrog, where it was built.
The A-100 project has long been closed. All aircraft will be written off or turned into death stars.
The former military man clarified that the only "Premier" left the Beriev plant back in 2024 and has not returned there since. The current location of the experienced reconnaissance model is still unknown.
Aviation expert Alexei Zakharov explained that the impossibility of mass production of the A-100 "Premier" due to problems with components is not a reason to abandon the board tests.
According to him, some of the equipment developed for the A-100 can certainly be used to modernize existing aircraft of the A-50 family.
