New installation for testing LADA fuel tanks developed at Togliatti University

Unique equipment allows evaluating the parameters of the fuel tank under real operating conditions of the car

New equipment for testing fuel tanks of cars was created at Togliatti State University (TSU). It will replace imported analogues. The equipment is already actively used by one of the suppliers of AvtoVAZ. This was reported in the press service of the university.

TSU has developed a unique installation for testing plastic fuel tanks. The work was carried out jointly with the customer company DIPO, a leading Russian manufacturer of fuel systems, a supplier of fuel tanks for AvtoVAZ.

The created installation became the first and only one in Russia. The new equipment will allow conducting modern research in the field of polymer materials and fuel systems.

The developed automated system simulates the real operating conditions of the fuel tank during refueling. The installation collects statistical data on the necessary parameters.

In fact, this is a mini gas station, with the help of which it is possible to safely and controllably refuel the tested fuel tank with gasoline in the laboratory and conduct a comprehensive study of its characteristics. The installation allows evaluating the parameters of the fuel tank under various operating conditions of the car, as well as checking the product for compliance with environmental safety requirements.
