OSAGO Payments Increased in Russia in 2025

Russian Union of Auto Insurers Announces Decrease in Insurance Premiums

In 2025, Russia is experiencing an increase in the average OSAGO payment. It amounted to 115,803 rubles, while the insurance premium decreased to 7,275 rubles. This was reported by the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA).

Over 10 months, OSAGO payments reached 187.8 billion rubles. During this time, Russians concluded 43.1 million contracts, of which 6.1 million were short-term OSAGO policies. Collected premiums amounted to 270.9 billion rubles.

The average premium for "motor third party liability" policies in October 2025 was 7,278 rubles, which is 4.6% lower than in October of the previous year. At the same time, the average payment in October amounted to 122,577 rubles, an increase of 17.8% year-on-year.

The President of the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA), Evgeny Ufimtsev, noted that competition among insurers for accident-free drivers plays an important role in keeping premiums low. Insurance companies try to maintain premiums, sometimes even lowering them, despite the increase in the average payment and fluctuations in the prices of spare parts.

According to Ufimtsev, the liberalization of tariffs makes prices fairer and encourages drivers to be more careful on the road. The lower the bonus-malus coefficient (BMC), the lower the cost of insurance, which motivates drivers to avoid accidents and comply with the rules.
