Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) has temporarily suspended the production of the off-road version of the micro-cargo-passenger van "Bukhanka" — the UAZ SGR "Expedition" model. Production is expected to resume around February 2026.
The reason for the suspension is a change of supplier of attachments necessary for additional off-road equipment. In the meantime, dealers are selling off the remaining expedition models in stock.
This decision may affect the market for off-road commercial vehicles: "Expedition" is one of the most passable and popular versions of "Bukhanka", and its temporary absence may increase demand for other modifications. On the other hand, for UAZ, this is an opportunity to optimize supplies and strengthen cooperation with a new supplier in order to improve the quality and reliability of off-road equipment in the future.
Although production is suspended, this is a temporary measure, and the company intends to return to the production of "Expedition" at the beginning of next year.
