You Won't Be Fooled: ZALA Scouts Trained to Distinguish M777 Howitzers from Mock-ups

A high-quality camera helps the military understand what is in the drone's lens

Russian ZALA reconnaissance drones are capable of distinguishing real military equipment from mock-ups thanks to onboard equipment. This was stated by the head of the complex with the call sign Kum.

Sufficiently high-quality camera, high-quality image. You can make out small objects, understand whether it is a real target or a dummy. That is, a serious complex, it's a pleasure to work with.
Call sign Kum, head of the ZALA complex

Kum specified that his complex alone has about 15 destroyed field artillery guns, a third of which are American M777 howitzers.

Modern ZALA drones have received artificial intelligence that independently searches for free frequencies for flight. These ranges are less susceptible to electronic warfare (EW) systems. The device also received new communication channels and a system for countering FPV interceptors.

ZALA's protection against FPV interceptors is provided by an onboard video camera with machine vision technology. When enemy drones are detected, the system automatically gives the scout a command to perform evasive maneuvers.
