The Kalashnikov Concern has completed the implementation of the 2025 state contract for the production of 5.45-mm AK-12 assault rifles of the 2023 model. All products have been shipped to the customer – the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation – in full and on time.
The AK-12 assault rifle is the main individual weapon of the Russian Armed Forces and is part of the Ratnik modular equipment. The 2023 model is the most advanced version of the AK family: it features improved ergonomics, increased accuracy and grouping of fire, and is also adapted for effective use around the clock.
In addition to the serial production of the basic version, the design and technological center of the concern has developed and quickly launched the production of a 5.45-mm shortened AK-12K assault rifle, specially designed for assault and reconnaissance units. The contract for the supply of the new modification was also fully completed in 2025.
