Russia is no longer the main importer of Chinese cars

In January–September 2025, more than 350 thousand cars were imported into the Russian Federation from China

Russia has lost its status as the largest importer of Chinese cars and has dropped to third place in the world ranking. According to the China Passenger Car Association, 357,708 cars were imported into the Russian Federation from China in January–September 2025.

The leadership passed to Mexico, which imported 410,739 cars during the same period, and the United Arab Emirates rose to second place with a result of 367,796 units.

The top ten importers also included Belgium, Great Britain, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Brazil, the Philippines, and Kazakhstan, which closes the list with 147,404 imported cars.

Experts note that the change of leader in the market reflects new trends in world trade and changing demand for Chinese cars. Mexico and the UAE are actively increasing supplies, using a favorable logistical location and government programs to support the automotive industry.
