Встанет на крыло: легендарный советский истребитель МиГ-21 возродят в Индии

MiG-21 will participate in air shows and commemorative events

The legendary MiG-21 fighter, retired from the Indian Air Force in September 2025, will receive a new lease of life thanks to the Heritage Flight program.

The fighter will participate in air shows and commemorative events, demonstrating the evolution and historical heritage of the country's air force.

Currently, the Indian Air Force is evaluating several MiG-21s located in Nashik. The exact number of fighters that will be part of the historical aerobatic team has not yet been disclosed. Their number will depend on the technical condition of the aircraft and the availability of spare parts.

There is a possibility that the state-owned aircraft manufacturing corporation HAL (which produced the MiG-21 under license) has stocks of components and even the ability to produce some of them.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the supersonic MiG-21 aircraft was restored at the Vympel plant.
