«Тихий подвиг»: российские заводы держат цены на тракторы вопреки инфляции

Manufacturers are stabilizing the market, helping farmers cope with rising costs

Russian agricultural machinery manufacturers have been criticized in recent months for rising tractor prices. However, an analysis by the Progress Union of Industrialists shows that the real picture differs from emotional statements.

Experts from the Progress Union of Industrialists studied the dynamics of prices for heavy tractor equipment based on the cost per horsepower and kilogram of weight from July 2024 to November 2025. During this period, accumulated inflation in Russia amounted to about 9.5%, but the increase in tractor prices was significantly lower. For example, the price of the Kirovets K-7M tractor (430 hp, gearbox 16/8, wheels 710/70 R38) increased from 16,377 thousand to 16,517 thousand rubles - only by 0.85%.

According to experts, farmers are indeed facing rising costs for maintaining equipment, but the main increase in the "total cost of ownership" occurs after purchase - at the stage of operation, maintenance and credit payments.

It is emphasized that Russian factories, by restraining factory prices, are performing a "quiet feat", stabilizing the market and supporting the agro-industrial complex in conditions of high macroeconomic inflation.

The Union of Industrialists emphasizes that the issues of equipment accessibility are systemic and related to financing, lending and the overall profitability of agriculture. They need to be addressed comprehensively, and not through public criticism of manufacturers who are actually doing their part responsibly.
