"Orsis T-5000" turned into an army rifle

The manufacturer simplified the design, changed the bolt and stock, changed the rifling pitch and prepared the weapon for mass production

The first public review of the army version of the Orsis T-5000 rifle, adopted under the GRAU index 6V12, has appeared. Experts have already noted that in preparation for mass production, the design and technological process have been significantly simplified.

As part of the preparation for mass production, the designers simplified the elements of the rifle: they changed the shape of the bolt, redesigned the stock, switched to more technological materials for the parts, and adjusted the pitch of the barrel rifling.

The changes are aimed at speeding up and reducing the cost of production, but affect the original high precision of the platform. The transition from the civilian version to the army model reflected the standard compromise between accuracy and manufacturability.

For practical units, this transition usually means different evaluation criteria - reliability and unification are often more important than a sub-minute increase in accuracy.
