The modernized Pantsir-SM anti-aircraft missile and gun systems (ZRPK) have begun to enter service with the Russian army. Apparently, they have entered mass production after a series of tests.
The combat vehicles are equipped with a combined ammunition load — hypersonic anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAM) 57E6M and SAM 57E6.
The missiles fly at a maximum speed of 1700 m/sec (up to 5.76 Mach), the effective interception range is up to 40 km.
Also, the Pantsir-SM launcher received a new three-channel radar station for tracking targets and guiding missiles 1RS2-3 based on a phased array (PAR) with a more powerful microwave klystron.
The system provides a target acquisition range with an effective reflecting surface (RCS) of 2.5 sq. m of about 43 km and with an RCS of 0.07 m² (equivalent to GMLRS rockets) of about 18 km.
