In October 2025, 1,614 new electric vehicles were sold in Russia, which was a record figure for the last year and a half. Sales increased by 20% compared to October 2024 and by 29% compared to September 2025.
The head of "Autostat," Sergei Tselikov, called the expected increase in the recycling fee the main factor. For individuals who import cars for personal needs, the preferential rate will remain, but with a limit on power. For conventional cars with an internal combustion engine, the limit will be 160 hp, while for electric vehicles and series hybrids, it will be 80 hp of rated power.
Tselikov noted that the "Amberauto A5" sedan, produced in Kaliningrad, has become the best-selling electric vehicle for the second month in a row. In October, 358 such cars were purchased. The Zeekr 001 liftback remains the leader for the first ten months of the year, with 1,372 units sold.
Overall, the Russian market for new electric vehicles decreased by 37% and amounted to 9.6 thousand units for the specified period.
Total sales of new passenger cars in Russia reached 164.6 thousand units in October, which also showed the best result in the last year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
