Russian strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) «Molniya-2» have received autopilot function for the first time. This was reported by the Zvezda TV channel.
This mode allows the device to maintain its course and complete the task even when the enemy tries to jam the communication. The drone exits the electronic warfare (EW) zone and continues flying when control is restored.
The plane doesn't fall, we fly on. And when we exit the EW suppression zone, control reappears, and we can safely continue working. Unfortunately, ordinary FPV drones fall when they lose control because they don't have this mode.
The preparation of «Molniya» for launch has also accelerated — sappers mount the ammunition and balance the device before launch, after which the device soars into the sky from a catapult.
In addition, the new firmware has made it possible to significantly increase the effectiveness of combat missions of the «Molniya-2» UAV. Nine out of ten drones successfully reach the target, and the percentage of hits is over 90%.
