Вспышка класса M3.5 зафиксирована на Солнце

Астрономы предупреждают о возможных магнитных возмущениях на Земле

Solar activity has intensified again: specialists from the Institute of Applied Geophysics (IAG) reported the registration of a flare of the penultimate power class - M3.5.

The phenomenon was recorded on November 4 at 04:48 Moscow time in the X-ray range in the region of sunspots 4274 (N22E72). The duration of the flare was about 25 minutes.

Solar flares are classified by the power of X-ray radiation into five categories: A, B, C, M, and X. The minimum level - A0.0 - corresponds to a power of 10 nanowatts per square meter in Earth orbit. Each subsequent class indicates a tenfold increase in radiation power.

Such events can be accompanied by emissions of solar plasma. If clouds of charged particles reach the Earth, they can cause magnetic storms and affect the operation of communication and navigation systems. Specialists continue to monitor the situation.
