Engineers of "Plant No. 9" (part of the Uralvagonzavod Concern) patented a new remote artillery module with a drum mechanism. The gun and control systems are located on its base.
The product can be used both on a fixed base and on vehicles of various types. The gun is equipped with a revolver-type loading mechanism, including a clip for placing firing elements.
When rolling back after a shot, the recoiling part of the barrel enters the free space of the drum, and when loading, it is locked on the line of feeding the firing elements into the barrel.
There, the drum rotation mechanism with the rammer prepares for the shot. At the same time, the positions of the capsules with the firing elements during loading are controlled by appropriate sensors.
The main tasks of the gun are to provide fire support to military units, protect and defend military facilities and places of deployment.
There is already design documentation for the proposed design, the first prototype has been built, and preparations have begun for its testing at the training ground.
