Почти все автозаводы в России, оставленные иностранными компаниями, уже работают

Out of 13 enterprises, 11 have resumed production, the remaining two will be launched in 2026

In Russia, almost all car factories left by foreign companies have resumed production. Out of 13 such enterprises, 11 are already fully operational, and the remaining two are planned to be launched in 2026. This was announced by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, in an interview with RIA Novosti.

As of today, almost all previously "abandoned" sites by foreigners have been relaunched, providing jobs. In total, full-fledged operation has been resumed at 11 out of 13 sites built for the production of passenger cars. The remaining two should be launched next year

According to him, new models at the relaunched enterprises are gradually occupying the niches that have become vacant after the departure of Western brands. For example, at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, cars of the Russian brand Tenet are now being assembled using a full cycle, including welding and painting.

The company "Sollers" has re-equipped the vacated capacities for the production of its own models. Special attention is paid to the enterprise "Automobile Technologies" in the Kaluga region, where the production of Citroen cars and one model of the Haval brand has been established.

The Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad, which cooperates with several technology partners, also demonstrates stable operation. The Haval plant in the Tula region has maintained production throughout the entire period.

The resumption of operation of "abandoned" car factories has made it possible to preserve the employment of about 30 thousand specialists — highly qualified employees of the industry.

According to Manturov, the launch of the last two enterprises, including the former General Motors plant in St. Petersburg, is expected in 2026, which will complete the process of restarting all foreign sites in Russia.
