New Moskvich M90: Russia certifies the brand's largest crossover

The seven-seater model will be produced in partnership with SAIC

The Moscow Automobile Plant has received Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) for the new Moskvich M90, a seven-seater crossover that will be the largest model in the brand's lineup. According to the document, the manufacturer is AO "Obedinenie promyshlennykh tekhnologii", and the model is being prepared for production in partnership with the Chinese auto concern SAIC.

The new Moskvich M90 is a localized version of the MG RX9 crossover, previously produced for the Asian market. The car will receive a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 200 horsepower and a 9-speed hydromechanical automatic transmission. There are no other options for the units - the only modification IS31AB3PAFNAA7LCPBA is certified with this combination.

The car has impressive dimensions: length - 4983 mm, width - 1967 mm, height - 1786 mm, and wheelbase - 2915 mm. The Moskvich M90 is designed for seven seats and is equipped with modern safety systems, including six airbags, lane keeping assist and other electronic driver assistants.

It was previously reported that Moskvich might end its cooperation with JAC in favor of SAIC, and the release of the M90 confirms this transition.
