A technical seminar "Prospects for the Development of Optoelectronic Systems for Earth Remote Sensing (ERS) Spacecraft" was held at JSC LOMO (Kalashnikov Concern), during which trends and prospects for the development of optoelectronic equipment were considered.
The seminar also discussed increasing the resolution of optoelectronic equipment of spacecraft while simultaneously miniaturizing the latter to reduce the cost of launching and commissioning them. Factors and risks affecting the timing and cost of manufacturing optoelectronic equipment, and the possibility of minimizing them, were considered.
Small spacecraft for Earth remote sensing are an important and promising area of development of space technologies, opening up new opportunities in providing ERS data to consumers. Small spacecraft are indispensable in solving operational tasks, such as monitoring emergencies and natural disasters.
As a reminder, a year earlier, JSC LOMO, in collaboration with the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, designed a compact high-resolution Earth remote sensing imaging system for small spacecraft and tested the components of the telescope's automatic focusing system. Then, the field corrector, focal assembly, receiver, and emitter of the high-resolution optoelectronic system (OEC HR) "Elegy" were subjected to vibrodynamic and thermal testing.
