The updated version of Lada Niva Travel received a new 1.8-liter engine with 90 hp and a redesigned design. But one of the most noticeable improvements was the updated braking system. A representative of AvtoVAZ spoke about this and other improvements.
The SUV also received ventilated discs of increased diameter and brake cylinders with a larger piston area. Now the system can withstand ten consecutive hard brakings from a speed of 100 km/h without overheating, while the previous version could only handle seven. Single-piston calipers and larger discs were borrowed from the Lada Vesta model.
The suspension and steering were additionally modernized — the stabilizer was moved forward, and the gearbox mount was reinforced. Instead of a roller bearing, a double-row ball bearing was installed in the front hub. This eliminates the need to adjust clearances.
The swivel knuckle was also changed — by reducing its size, the car's stability during braking has improved.
