«Скидка» с подвохом: как ИИ помогает мошенникам обмануть покупателей в «Чёрную пятницу»

Scammers are using generative technologies to create fake websites and ads

During the upcoming sales season, scammers will use familiar schemes with fake brand websites and fictitious delivery services, MTS experts said. According to them, thanks to artificial intelligence technologies, attackers have significantly improved their deception tools.

The most common scheme remains phishing sites that masquerade as well-known stores and marketplaces. After selecting a product, the user is redirected to a fake payment page, where criminals receive money and payment data.

Experts advise checking links before clicking, paying attention to the presence of the "https" protocol, and also searching for the official website of the brand independently. You should not install applications from third-party links and trust offers with unrealistically large discounts.

Specialists recommend paying special attention to cases with "fake delivery." Scammers pose as couriers and ask to name the code from the SMS under the pretext of confirming the parcel. Couriers can request the code only during the transfer of the order, and not in advance.

Experts noted that thanks to generative artificial intelligence, scammers have learned to create plausible phishing emails and websites, copy the code of original resources, and also use the images of artists and bloggers in fake advertising. To recognize generated images or videos, experts advise paying attention to the voice and intonation — the AI voice usually sounds too even and without pauses.

Specialists reminded that caution should be exercised not only during "Black Friday", but also before the New Year, when scammers become active, sending messages about non-existent winnings and promotions.
