Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant (SNSZ, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) handed over the Gabion excursion and sightseeing passenger catamaran to Neva Travel. The parties signed the acceptance certificate for the Sommers project vessel on October 21, the company's press service reported.
The vessel was built at the St. Petersburg plant as part of the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) program for the development of water transport leasing with state funding.
"Gabion" is the third of four catamarans of the "Sommers" project. The passenger ships "Bastion" and "Ravelin" are already operated by Neva Travel on the tourist route to the Kronstadt forts.
From 2026, catamarans of the "Sommers" project will deliver passengers to the Kronshlot and Emperor Alexander the First forts, which are completely isolated from the coast.
