The company "Power Machines" won a lawsuit against the Kaluga Turbine Plant (KTZ) for 96.5 million rubles due to the disruption of hydro unit equipment deliveries. Initially, the amount of claims totaled 689 million rubles, but the court considered it disproportionate to the plaintiff's losses.
According to the contract, the Kaluga enterprise was supposed to supply equipment and complete installation work by August 11, 2023, but the actual execution was delayed until the end of 2024. For each day of delay, a penalty was provided — 0.1–0.2% of the cost of the batch or stage of work.
The defendant refused to pay and asked to reduce the penalty, citing external circumstances — interruptions in components due to sanctions and the need to restructure logistics.
KTZ is the main manufacturer of OK-90A-1 "Azurite" and OK17-M "Mirage" steam turbine units for nuclear-powered strategic missile submarines of Project 955 "Borei" and Project 885M "Yasen-M".
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the personal initiative of an engineer from the Chelyabinsk NPO "Electromashina" accelerated the production of protection for the T-90M and the "Okhotnik" combat modules.
