The press service of the national messenger MAX stated that information about the alleged leakage of the user database is not true. This is reported by TASS.
This is a fake spread by anonymous sources. MAX user data is securely protected
The reason for the rumors was a publication on one of the darknet forums, where a user offered to sell a database that allegedly contained information about 46.2 million MAX users. The fake was quickly picked up by various Telegram channels.
The MAX Security Center emphasized that they analyzed the published data and found that it is not related to the real infrastructure of the messenger. In particular, the authors of the fake database claimed that they gained access to Salesforce software, but the messenger never used this service. Moreover, VK — the parent company of the platform — terminated relations with Salesforce back in 2022.
The Ministry of Digital Development, in turn, reported that publications about the hacking of the Max messenger were fabricated. None of the published alleged records of the "Gosuslugi" ID matches the data of real users.
